estate sales...what a joy

I woke up this morning at the crack of dawn, on a Saturday mind you, and not assisted by an alarm, but by the sheer joy of knowing I would get to travel a few short miles to a neighborhood estate sale. The love of rummaging through the junk and treasures of an estate sale, garage sale, yard sale or auction is definitely in my blood. I grew up in Ohio and so frequented auctions with my grandparents and quickly learned the art of finding a sweet deal. I also acquired the taste for buying things that I love, but don't necessarily need. But there are worse things, right?

I always feel lucky when I happen upon something that delights me, that no one else has snagged, and is within my budget (which is usually a few cash dollars tucked into my back pocket). Today I procured, among other things, four beautiful glasses (one of which I will be using shortly for a glass of red wine), and a miniature set of owls, both vintage and trendy!

the times they are a changin'...

This summer, I married my fiancé John, and we are doing just peachy! It was a wonderful weekend filled with family, friends and tacos. Still trying to get used to my new last name and making the word husband a part of my everyday vernacular. Strange, but good.

Most recently, my sister Katie and her husband Davis welcomed their second child, Sofia Marie, into the great state of North Carolina. I can't wait to meet her and travel back to my old stomping grounds!

In other news, I'm currently working on my new website and logo for Witzmann Studio, my latest and greatest personal project. I'm pumped about doing something for myself this time. An online presence is just what I've been missing. I'll keep you posted!
